With gratitude to Chenoa Anderson (alto flute) and Allison Balcetis (baritone saxophone) for their generosity in allowing me to post their wonderful recording of my composition about life under the Pomegrante tree in reference to Persephone and Demeter and other characters from Greek mythology.

World Premiere: Under the Pomegranate Tree for alto flute and baritone Saxophone

With thanks to Chenoa Anderson and Allsion Balcetis who will give the World Premiere of my composition Under the Pomegranate Tree for alto flute and baritone saxophone at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, October 1st. Both musicians collaborated on the work and gave valuable insight into sounds and techniques of their instruments which made it possible for me to write this piece.

Join Chenoa Anderson and Allison Balcetis for an afternoon of music for flutes and saxophones (everything except piccolo). Solo and duet repertoire by: Marcos Balter, Diana Rotaru, Salvatore Sciarrino, Hong-Da Chin, Coreen Morsink, Pranav Sivakumar, Franco Donatoni, Lili Tobias. 2 PM, Studio 2-7, FAB, Edmonton, University of Alberta. Free admission.
